There is nothing like the look and feel of luxurious pampering. Any self-care that indulges the senses makes me feel on top of the world, no matter what kind of a day I´ve had. If like me, you are in search of a little something to make your stress melt away, while you take care of yourself, here are a few of my favorites. I regularly receive samples from different brands to review and, trust me, I only share what I am absolutely in love with. Here are my latest favorites:
.- Bobbi Brown´s City Collection Compact.- I´m a lifelong fan of Bobbi Brown cosmetics. I love her nude palettes. In honor of the brand’s 25th anniversary, Bobbi Brown introduces the City Collection this September – a celebration of three of her favorites cities around the world. She has curated three lip and eye palettes inspired by her love of Paris, New York, and London. I loved the London palette, which as the two others, is a limited edition. It has the essentials to showcase your eyes and cheeks for the fall.
.- Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Corrector.- So now that I´m learning to highlight and contour my features, I am very appreciative of what color correctors can do for mature skin. Or for anyone with uneven tones or undereye circles. If you already have fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes, I recommend applying it more insistently to the inner corners of your eyes. Avoid the outer eye area. If you follow me on Snapchat or Instagram you can see what illuminators do to my eyes! I look way more awake and vibrant when I use them.
.- L´Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal line.- I say over and over that after a certain age I do not believe in anti-aging miracles. But I am a fan of any skin product that brightens my complexion. After three weeks of using these three products, I´m enjoying the results. The daily scrub is gentle and I love the scent and feel of both the day and night lotions. Sunscreen in a day cream is always a plus. And a citrusy scent is very welcome.
.- L´Oreal New EverCreme 6-in-1 Cleansing Balm.- Last night I found my eldest, 15, in my shower, pumping a ton of this balm into her hands to soften her hair. I might have even yelled and interrupted her pampering session! While I love that my kids follow in my steps of taking care of themselves inside and out, I explained to her that she just needed to use a small amount to reap the most benefits! I have wavy hair and now that it´s graying I´m grateful for a hair product that will keep the frizz in check. My teen´s hair is curly and also needs as much moisture as it can soak up. My youngest, 12, has waist-long red hair. This does the trick for the three of us. Cleanses and moisturizes without weighing hair down.
.- Alaïa scented candle and body cream.- This is absolute and pure indulgence for the senses. From the beautiful presentation to the feeling of the cream melting into your skin as you are enveloped in the scent, this is the closest to feeling luxurious as you can get without leaving your bathroom. Airy notes and pink pepper eventually give way to a personal favorite, musk!
.- The Power of When and #PowerDownHour journal and eye-mask.- I am and always have been a big sleeper. Even when my girls were babies, I found ways to take naps. I’m so happy to report that in their teens and tweens, my kids take after me! They also love their shuteye. And I just can’t stress how much getting enough sleep improves both your health and your inner and outer beauty. The book helps you uncover your personal rhythms to figure out when you are at your best to do different things. Keep an eye on my Instagram account, as I’ll be hosting a giveaway of the below! I’m a big fan of eye masks and journals.
